Privacy Policy

Last updated: 21 August 2026

TechDash is a desktop software application provided by TUN Digital Ltd, trading as TechDash (“TechDash”, “we”, “us” or “our”).

We take privacy seriously. TechDash is designed to operate primarily on your own computer. Website crawl data and the TechDash database are stored locally on your device rather than being uploaded to TechDash servers.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights under UK data protection law.

1. Who we are

The data controller is:

TUN Digital Ltd t/a TechDash
Company number: 13464714
Registered in England and Wales
Registered office: 2 Frederick Street, Kings Cross, London, United Kingdom, WC1X 0ND

Email: hello@techdash.com

For questions about privacy or the use of your personal information, please contact us using the email address above.

2. What this Privacy Policy covers

This Privacy Policy applies to personal information processed by us in connection with:

It does not apply to websites that you choose to crawl, monitor or analyse using TechDash, except where information from those websites is deliberately transmitted to a service operated by us.

3. TechDash is local-first

TechDash is designed differently from a typical cloud-based website monitoring service.

The websites you configure in TechDash are crawled and analysed from the computer on which TechDash is installed. The resulting crawl database and website analysis data are stored locally on that computer.

We do not routinely receive or store:

unless you deliberately submit that information to us, for example as part of a support request, or use a feature that clearly states that information will be sent to an external service.

The fact that TechDash software processes information on your computer does not mean that TUN Digital Ltd receives or has access to that information.

You are responsible for ensuring that your own use of TechDash to crawl, store or otherwise process information complies with any laws that apply to you.

4. Personal information we collect

The information we receive depends on how you interact with TechDash.

Account and purchase information

When you purchase, register or manage a TechDash licence, we may process information such as:

Payment card details are processed by our payment provider. We do not need to receive or store your complete payment card number.

Licence and application information

When TechDash communicates with our licensing or update services, we may process technical information required to provide those services.

This may include:

We use this information to validate licences, prevent licence abuse, provide access to versions of TechDash to which you are entitled, and deliver software updates.

We do not use licence validation as a means of collecting your crawl database or monitoring the websites you analyse using TechDash.

Support communications

If you contact us for support or otherwise communicate with us, we may receive:

Please avoid sending us confidential or personal information that is not required to resolve your support request.

Website information

When you visit the TechDash website, our infrastructure may process standard technical information such as:

This information may be necessary to deliver the website, maintain its security, investigate errors and prevent abuse.

Marketing communications

If you ask to receive marketing communications from us, or where we are otherwise permitted to contact you under applicable law, we may use your name, email address and relevant customer information to send those communications.

You can unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time.

We may still send non-marketing messages that are necessary in connection with your purchase or licence, such as receipts, licence information, security notices or important service communications.

5. Information TechDash does not collect for advertising

We do not sell your personal information.

We do not sell information about the websites you monitor.

We do not use your TechDash crawl database to build advertising profiles.

We do not use the TechDash desktop application to monitor your general web browsing activity.

We do not provide advertisers with access to your TechDash projects or crawl data.

If we introduce optional analytics, diagnostics or similar functionality in the future that materially changes how personal information is collected, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any notices or choices required by law.

6. Third-party integrations

TechDash may allow you to connect to or use third-party services.

Depending on the features you choose to use, these may include search engines, website performance services, email providers, notification platforms, APIs or other external services.

Where TechDash connects directly from your computer to a third-party service, information may be transmitted directly between your computer and that provider without passing through TechDash infrastructure.

Your use of a third-party service is also subject to that provider’s own terms and privacy practices.

Where a feature needs to transmit information through infrastructure operated by us, or to an external service on your behalf, we will aim to make the nature of that transmission clear within the product.

We do not take responsibility for the independent processing activities of third-party services that you choose to connect to TechDash.

7. Why we use personal information

We process personal information only where we have a lawful basis for doing so.

Where we rely on legitimate interests, those interests may include operating and protecting our business, securing TechDash, preventing fraud and licence misuse, supporting customers, maintaining records and improving the reliability of our products.

We consider whether those interests are overridden by your rights and interests before relying on this basis.

8. Cookies and storage technologies

The TechDash website and services may use cookies or similar storage technologies where necessary to provide functionality such as security, authentication, checkout or account management.

Where a technology requires consent under applicable law, we will request that consent before using it.

We do not use cookies or similar technologies as a means of obtaining access to your locally stored TechDash crawl database.

The TechDash desktop application necessarily stores information on your device in order to operate. This includes application files, configuration, databases and other data needed to provide the features you request.

Where applicable law requires us to provide information or obtain consent for a particular storage or access technology, we will do so.

9. Who we share information with

We may disclose personal information to organisations that help us operate TechDash and our business, including providers of:

These organisations receive only the information appropriate for the services they provide.

We may also disclose personal information where reasonably necessary to:

If TUN Digital Ltd, TechDash or relevant business assets are sold, reorganised or transferred, relevant personal information may form part of that transaction, subject to appropriate confidentiality and data protection requirements.

We do not sell personal information to data brokers or advertisers.

10. International transfers

Some suppliers or third-party services used in connection with TechDash may process information outside the United Kingdom.

Where we are responsible for transferring personal information to a country that does not benefit from applicable UK adequacy regulations, we will use an appropriate legal mechanism for the transfer where required.

This may include the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Addendum to approved standard contractual clauses, or another mechanism permitted under UK data protection law.

Third-party services that you independently choose to connect to TechDash may make their own international transfers under their respective privacy policies.

11. How long we keep personal information

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including legal, accounting, tax, fraud prevention and dispute-resolution requirements.

Retention periods vary depending on the information involved.

For example:

Information held solely within your local TechDash database is controlled by you and remains on your computer unless you delete it, uninstall TechDash, erase the relevant files or otherwise choose to transfer it.

12. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures intended to protect personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, loss or destruction.

No software, computer system or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Because most TechDash crawl data is stored locally, the security of that information also depends on the security of your own device and environment. You should use appropriate operating-system security, access controls, encryption, backups and other safeguards appropriate to the information you process.

13. Your data protection rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law may give you rights including the right to:

These rights are not absolute and may depend on the circumstances and lawful basis for processing.

To exercise a data protection right, contact hello@techdash.com.

We may need to verify your identity before responding to a request.

We will normally respond within the period required by applicable data protection law.

14. Automated decision-making

We do not use personal information about TechDash customers to make solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects on them.

TechDash itself may automate website analysis, monitoring and reporting. This is functionality performed at the user’s direction and is not automated decision-making about the user for the purposes described above.

15. Children

TechDash is professional website monitoring and analysis software and is not intended for use by children.

We do not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children through TechDash.

16. Business customers and other people’s personal information

TechDash may be used by businesses, agencies, developers and other professionals to analyse websites.

Websites may themselves contain personal information. Because TechDash generally processes and stores crawl information locally on the user’s computer, TUN Digital Ltd does not ordinarily receive that information.

The person or organisation using TechDash is responsible for determining whether its collection and use of information from websites is lawful and for meeting any obligations that apply to that processing.

If you submit another person’s personal information directly to us, for example in a support request, you are responsible for ensuring that you are entitled to do so.

17. Complaints

If you have a concern about how we use your personal information, please contact us first at:

hello@techdash.com

You also have the right to complain to the UK’s data protection regulator:

Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO)
Website: ico.org.uk

You can find current contact and complaint information directly on the ICO website.

18. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example where TechDash functionality changes, we change our suppliers, or legal requirements change.

When we make changes, we will publish the updated version and change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.

If a change materially affects how we use personal information, we will provide additional notice where appropriate.
