Use Run now to request one monitored URL immediately instead of waiting for its saved interval to become due.

Queue the check

  1. Open Websites and select the website.
  2. Find the page in Monitored Pages. Use Filter pages if needed.
  3. Select Run now in that page's row.
  4. Wait for the Check queued. confirmation.

The button is temporarily disabled while TechDash checks whether it can accept the request.

What “Check queued” means

The confirmation means TechDash accepted the request into the page-check queue. It does not mean the crawl has started or finished.

Manual requests bypass the normal scheduler admission limit, but they do not bypass the queue's worker limit. If all page-check workers are busy, the request waits. Open Queue Status to see waiting jobs, active jobs, and worker capacity.

When the run finishes, the Monitored Pages row updates its Last check time and status. Select the page path to view Latest results.

The completed run also becomes the new last-check reference for normal interval scheduling. For example, a Daily page checked manually now will normally become due about 24 hours after that completed check, subject to adaptive scheduling and delays.

Requirements and errors

TechDash checks two conditions before accepting a manual run:

  • Usable license: If the license is locked or not activated, the request is rejected.
  • Connectivity: The computer must be online and pass a captive-portal check. If Wi-Fi requires sign-in, complete it before retrying.

Connectivity results are cached briefly, so a just-restored connection may take up to the next check or cache refresh to be recognized. If needed, wait about a minute and retry.

Page and website pause behavior

Before selecting Run now, confirm:

  • The page's Enabled control is On.
  • The website is not paused.
  • Portfolio-wide monitoring is not paused from the tray.

The request handler checks the license and connectivity but does not reject a paused or disabled URL. It can therefore display Check queued. even though the worker later skips the crawl because the page is disabled or its website is paused. If Last check does not update after a queued request, check these states first, enable or resume monitoring, and retry.

Battery power and a locked screen stretch normal due-time calculations, but they do not prevent a manual request. The request still waits for available page-check workers.

Difference from Check & Verify

Run now performs a normal page check and updates the page's latest results.

Check & Verify starts from an incident and is designed to confirm whether that specific issue has recovered. Use it when your goal is to verify an incident after a fix. Use Run now when you want a general fresh evaluation of the whole page.

Troubleshooting

Activate a TechDash license: Open Settings and activate or replace the license. Scheduled and manual page checks require a usable license.

This computer is offline: Confirm that other sites load and retry after connectivity returns.

Wi-Fi sign-in is required: Open the network's sign-in page, complete it, and retry.

The request is queued but not starting: Open Queue Status. Other active page checks may be using all workers. A manual request bypasses scheduler admission limits, not worker capacity.

Check queued appeared but Last check did not change: Turn the page On and unpause its website and portfolio, then retry. Workers skip disabled pages and paused websites.

The page finished but an issue remains: Expand Latest results and compare the evidence. If you were verifying a specific incident, use Check & Verify from that incident.

Repeated clicks do not help: The button is disabled while one request is being submitted, but a later click can create another queued run. Avoid adding duplicate work when the first request is already waiting.

If an enabled, unpaused page repeatedly shows Check queued. but never becomes active or updates after the queue clears, open Help & Support. Include the TechDash version, operating system, hostname and path, request time with time zone, last-check text, tray connectivity text, license state without the key, and screenshots of the page row and Queue Status.
