Use Sources after adding a website

Find candidate pages from Search Console, Bulk URL Import, and crawl links, then add the ones you want to monitor.

Last checked 26 August 2026

After Add website, TechDash opens Sources. The homepage is already monitored and checking. Use the finders on this screen to collect candidate URLs, then add only the pages you want TechDash to watch.

Nothing on Sources becomes a monitored page until you select Add selected or Add all. Skip or Done leaves Sources and opens the website page. Later adds use Monitored Pages.

Review suggested pages

Suggested Pages lists candidates TechDash has already found. Each row shows the URL, where it came from, and, for crawl suggestions, the monitored page that linked to it. Search Console rows can also show clicks. The table shows 100 rows at a time. When there are more, the footer shows the current range and total. Long URLs stop at 90 characters (sooner in a narrower window) with .... Hover a URL to see the full address.

  1. Filter the list if you need a smaller set.
  2. Select individual rows, or use Select all.
  3. Select Add selected, or Add all to monitor every remaining suggestion.
  4. Keep Sources open if you want more crawl suggestions. Each page you add is checked, and newly found same-host links appear in the list.

Empty crawl copy means the homepage check has not finished yet. Linked pages appear after that first check stores internal links.

Find pages from Search Console

  1. Select Connect to Google Search Console if the website is not connected.
  2. After a matching property is saved, TechDash detects top pages by clicks over the last 28 days (default 25, at most 250).
  3. Those URLs land in Suggested Pages. They are not monitored until you add them.

This first-run detection is separate from Import from GSC on Monitored Pages, which adds top pages immediately after onboarding.

Bulk URL Import

Bulk URL Import accepts one absolute same-host URL per line, the same rule as Bulk Add later on Monitored Pages.

Imported URLs land in Suggested Pages. Invalid, other-host, already monitored, or non-HTML paths are skipped with a reason.

Expected result

Added URLs appear in Monitored Pages and receive an immediate first-check request. They inherit the website check frequency. Done or Skip marks this first-run screen complete. TechDash does not reopen Sources the next time you open that website.

Limits

  • Suggestions stay on this first-run screen. After Done or Skip, add more pages from Monitored Pages.
  • Crawl suggestions only include same-host HTML links found on pages that have already been checked during this Sources session.
  • Suggested Pages skips URLs that include query string parameters.
  • Search Console detection does not import your entire property and does not stay synchronized.
  • Monitor important URLs, not every discovered path. Fast frequencies across thousands of pages can back up Queue Status.
