Activate TechDash from your license email

Use the activation link in your license email or fall back to manual activation.

Last checked 21 August 2026

The activation link in your license email opens the installed TechDash app and can fill the licensed email address and key. A legitimate link may begin with techdash://. This is an app link, not a normal web page. Your browser or operating system may ask whether to open TechDash.

The link does not activate TechDash automatically. Review the values in the app, then select Activate license. Use only the link in the license email you expected. Do not open a copied activation link from an unknown sender.

Use the link on the computer where you want TechDash to run. A license does not expire, but it can be bound to only one computer at a time.

Use the activation link

  1. Install TechDash on the computer you want to license.
  2. Open the license email on that computer.
  3. Select its TechDash activation link.
  4. Allow your browser or operating system to open TechDash if it asks.
  5. On Activate TechDash, check the values under Email and License key.
  6. Select Activate license.

If TechDash is already running in the menu bar or system tray, the link brings the existing app window forward. The expected result is the Activate TechDash screen with Email and License key filled in, or ready for you to enter them.

Expected result

After you select Activate license, TechDash checks the license online. A successful activation replaces Activate TechDash with the main app and starts local monitoring.

One license can be active on one computer at a time. If it is already active elsewhere, TechDash tells you what to do before activating this computer.

If the link does not open TechDash

First confirm that TechDash has been installed, not just downloaded. Then:

  • Approve the browser or operating-system prompt to open TechDash.
  • Try the link from a normal browser instead of an email client's preview pane.
  • Look for TechDash in the menu bar or system tray. The link may have opened the existing background instance.
  • Open TechDash from Applications, the Start menu, its desktop shortcut, or your Linux app launcher.

If the link still fails, activate manually:

  1. Copy the licensed address from the email into Email.
  2. Copy the key into License key.
  3. Confirm that it contains four groups of five letters or numbers.
  4. Select Activate license.

Respond to activation messages

  • Enter a valid email address and a license key like XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX. Check both fields and copy the complete key from the license email.
  • This computer is offline. Connect to the internet to activate a license. Restore the connection, then try again.
  • Wi-Fi sign-in is required before TechDash can check this license. Complete the Wi-Fi sign-in in a browser, then try again.
  • Could not reach the license server. Try again when the connection is stable. Wait for a stable connection and retry. Reinstalling does not fix a connection or temporary service problem.
  • That email and license key were not accepted. Confirm that the email and key belong together.
  • This license is already in use on another computer. Unlink it there, or revoke it at techdash.com/account, then activate it here. Follow those steps, then return to Activate TechDash.
  • This license was revoked. Activate it again from techdash.com if you still have access. Restore access through your TechDash account, then try again.

If the link fills only one field, enter the missing value manually. Do not share screenshots containing the full key when requesting support.

Open Help & Support if the expected link still does not open the installed app, a correct email and key are not accepted, or activation fails after the connection is stable. Include the TechDash version, operating system, exact message, and whether manual entry also failed. Never include the full license key.
