Bulk-add monitored pages
Add a list of absolute same-host URLs and review live progress.
Last checked 21 August 2026
Use Bulk Add when you already have a list of URLs for one website. TechDash processes each non-blank line separately, so an invalid URL does not prevent later lines from being attempted.
Prepare the list
Put one complete HTTP or HTTPS URL on each line. Every URL must use the exact hostname stored for the website. For example:
https://example.com/about
https://example.com/services
https://example.com/contact?source=nav
Blank lines are ignored. Spaces before or after a line are removed. Do not paste headings, bullets, comments, or comma-separated values because each non-blank line is treated as one URL. Bulk Add does not read CSV columns. Convert a spreadsheet to one absolute URL per line first.
Add the URLs
- Open Websites, select the website, and find Monitored Pages.
- Select Bulk Add.
- Paste the list into URLs.
- Check the line count under the field. It counts visible lines, while blank lines will be ignored during processing.
- Select Bulk Add URLs.
- Keep the dialog open while TechDash processes the list.
- Review any rejected rows, then select Done when processing finishes.
The Done button is unavailable while processing is active.
What the progress means
The progress bar and totals update after each attempted URL:
- Accepted: TechDash created the monitored page.
- Rejected: validation or creation failed. The table shows the original line and the reason.
- Pending: the line has not been attempted yet.
Progress is the percentage of accepted plus rejected lines out of all non-blank lines. Processing is sequential rather than simultaneous, which keeps the result and reason for each line clear.
Expected result and defaults
Accepted URLs appear in Monitored Pages. Each one starts enabled, inherits the website's saved Check frequency, and has all optional checks and all four per-page notification toggles enabled. Change individual intervals after import if some pages need another schedule.
TechDash requests an immediate first check for each successfully created page. Those requests bypass the normal due-page admission limit but still wait for page-check workers. A large import can therefore create a temporary queue. Offline status, a captive Wi-Fi page, paused monitoring, an unusable license, or worker capacity can prevent or delay first checks. Pages that were not admitted still have no previous check time and remain due for later scheduler sweeps.
Limits and validation
Each line must:
- Start with
http://orhttps://. - Use the exact website hostname.
- Have a path plus query string no longer than 2,048 characters.
- Resolve to a path and query that are not already monitored for this website.
There is no separate list-size cap in the dialog, but very large lists can take time to create and can produce significant crawl load afterward. Import only useful pages and choose sensible frequencies.
If you close the dialog early
Closing the dialog during processing requests cancellation of the remaining client-side loop and clears the displayed progress. URLs already accepted remain in Monitored Pages. A URL request already in progress may finish before cancellation is observed, but unprocessed lines are not submitted.
If you need to stop, close the dialog, filter Monitored Pages to confirm what was added, then run another bulk add containing only the missing URLs.
Troubleshooting
Many URLs are rejected as different websites: Check www, subdomains, and international hostnames. Each website record accepts only its exact hostname.
Duplicates are rejected: This is expected when the same path and query is already monitored or appears twice in the pasted list. Accepted copies remain unchanged.
Pages were added but checks have not run: Open Queue Status and check whether page work is waiting. Also confirm the website is not paused, the pages are enabled, the computer is online, and the license is usable.
If Pending stops changing while the dialog remains open, or a corrected same-host URL is repeatedly rejected without a clear validation reason, open Help & Support. Include the TechDash version, operating system, hostname, exact URL or a redacted equivalent with the same structure, complete reason, accepted/rejected/pending totals, and attempt time with time zone.
