Change frequencies for a website or individual page
Apply one interval to all website pages or change one page independently.
Last checked 21 August 2026
Edit the website when every current monitored page should use one interval. Expand a page row when only that URL should change. Available intervals are Every 15 minutes, Hourly, Daily, and Weekly.
Change every page on a website
- Open Websites.
- Open the website card's context menu.
- Select Edit Website.
- Under Check frequency, select the new interval.
- Review the load warning, then select Save changes.
If the website frequency changed, TechDash writes that interval to every monitored page on the website. This replaces any page-specific interval that existed before the edit. Page Enabled state, notification toggles, disabled optional checks, and prior results are unchanged.
The website stores the selected frequency, and pages added later through Add page or Bulk Add inherit it. You can still change an individual page afterward.
Change one page
- Open Websites and select the website.
- Find and expand the page in Monitored Pages.
- Under Interval, select Every 15 minutes, Hourly, Daily, or Weekly.
The selection saves immediately for that page. There is no separate Save button. If the page row does not update, close and reopen it, then try again.
This page-specific value remains until you change it again or save a different website-wide frequency. A later website-wide edit replaces all individual page values.
Expected scheduling behavior
Changing an interval recalculates when the page is due from its existing Last check time. It does not reset that timestamp and does not immediately queue a crawl.
For example, if a page last finished two hours ago:
- Changing from Daily to Hourly makes it due at the next scheduler review.
- Changing from Hourly to Daily means it will normally wait until 24 hours have elapsed from that same last check.
Pages never checked before are due regardless of their interval. The normal scheduler reviews due pages about once a minute, checks connectivity, and admits work according to available worker slots. Select Run now if you need to queue the page immediately.
The saved interval is not an exact appointment. Page checks can run later because of queue backlog, worker capacity, offline status, captive Wi-Fi, paused monitoring, battery power, a locked screen, or an unusable license.
While the computer is on battery power or the screen is locked, TechDash uses twice the configured interval for due calculations. The chosen value displayed in Interval does not change. Normal due calculations resume on AC power with the screen unlocked.
Choose between website-wide and page-specific changes
Use a website-wide change when:
- You are establishing one baseline schedule for the site.
- A backlog requires reducing all page demand quickly.
- Temporary page-specific differences are no longer needed.
Use a page-specific change when:
- A small number of conversion or release pages need faster detection.
- Stable reference pages can run Weekly.
- You want to reduce load without slowing the site's most important URLs.
What frequency does not control
This setting controls page checks only. It does not change separate schedules for robots.txt, sitemap, llms.txt, favicon, SSL, domain, DNS, Google Search Console, or brand assets.
Turning a page's Enabled control Off prevents normal scheduling regardless of its interval. Pausing the website prevents scheduled work for all of its pages and other website jobs.
Troubleshooting
The page did not run immediately: Frequency changes do not enqueue a manual check. Select Run now.
An individual interval was overwritten: Saving a changed website frequency intentionally applies it to every current page.
Checks remain late after choosing a faster interval: Open Queue Status. If waiting work is backlogged, adding more scheduled demand will not improve detection time. Slow other pages or reduce the monitored set.
The interval looks correct but no work runs: Confirm page Enabled state, website and tray pause state, connectivity, and license status.
If an interval does not persist after a full restart, or a page remains stale beyond its applicable interval without a pause, connectivity problem, unusable license, or backlog, open Help & Support. Include the TechDash version, operating system, hostname and path, previous and selected intervals, whether the change was website-wide or page-specific, last-check text, and screenshots of the row and Queue Status.
