Remove a monitored page

Permanently remove one URL from the monitored set after confirmation.

Last checked 21 August 2026

Remove a page only when TechDash should permanently stop monitoring that URL. Removal is not reversible. For a temporary pause, use Enabled: Off instead.

Remove the URL

  1. Open Websites and select the website.
  2. Find the URL in Monitored Pages. Use Filter pages if needed.
  3. Select Remove in the row, or select the page path and then Remove page in its expanded controls.
  4. Review the complete absolute URL in the confirmation.
  5. Select Remove to confirm, or Cancel to keep it.

The confirmation is the final safeguard. There is no undo action. Re-adding the same URL creates a new monitored-page record and does not restore deleted data or settings.

Expected result

The URL disappears from Monitored Pages and TechDash stops scheduling checks for it. Removal permanently deletes:

  • The monitored URL record, including its frequency and page-specific settings.
  • All check runs and results for that URL.
  • Its current state.
  • Stored HTML for the page.
  • Custom checks scoped specifically to that page.

Website-wide custom checks remain because they are not scoped to the removed page.

Alerts already recorded for the URL are not deleted by page removal. They remain in alert and health history until the normal 90-day alert retention period removes them.

An open issue for the page disappears because open issues are derived from the current monitored URLs and their latest results. This does not resolve the issue or delete its earlier alert record. Do not remove a page only to clear a valid issue.

Choose remove, disable, or ignore

Use Remove when:

  • The URL is permanently retired or was added by mistake.
  • It no longer belongs in the monitoring plan.
  • You no longer need its check history, results, current state, stored HTML, or page-specific custom checks.

Use Enabled: Off when:

  • The pause is temporary.
  • You want to keep its frequency, notification controls, optional-check choices, history, current state, stored HTML, and page-specific custom checks.
  • You may resume normal scheduling later.

Use an incident's Ignore action when:

  • The page should continue to be monitored.
  • A particular check result is expected and should not keep appearing as an actionable incident.

Disabling one optional check is another choice when a built-in check is genuinely irrelevant to that specific page.

Remove from an incident

Some incident details provide Remove Page as an in-app fix for a URL that should leave monitoring. Review the URL carefully and confirm the action. It removes the monitored page rather than simply resolving the incident.

If the incident recommends Update Monitored URL, use that action when the content has moved and monitoring should follow the new path. Removing and re-adding loses the old page-specific current state and settings.

Verify the removal

  1. Return to the website's Monitored Pages list.
  2. Search for the full path with Filter pages.
  3. Confirm the URL is absent.
  4. Confirm the monitored-page count has decreased.
  5. If the page had an open issue, open Incidents and confirm that derived open issue is no longer listed.

An earlier alert can still appear in retained alert or health history. That is expected and does not mean the URL is still monitored.

Troubleshooting

The wrong URL appears in the confirmation: Select Cancel. Check the path and query string, then use Filter pages to locate the intended row.

The page reappears later: Another user action may have added it again, or a later Google Search Console import may have returned it among top pages. Existing monitored paths are skipped, but removed paths can be imported again.

You only wanted checks to stop temporarily: Cancel removal and set Enabled to Off.

An earlier alert remains: Alerts remain until the 90-day retention period removes them. The derived open issue should disappear because the URL is no longer monitored.

TechDash says the page no longer exists: Refresh the website view. Another action may already have removed it.

If the confirmed page remains after reopening the website, or it reappears without a new add or Search Console import, open Help & Support. Include the TechDash version, operating system, hostname and complete path, removal time with time zone, exact error, whether the confirmation closed, and screenshots before removal and after reopening Monitored Pages.
