Use Daily Digest instead of real-time alerts

Enable one daily summary of new and outstanding incidents, set the local send time, and choose which levels to include.

Daily Digest sends one summary each day instead of a desktop or webhook alert for every new incident. It always applies to every website. You cannot turn it on for only some sites.

Short answer

Open Daily Digest in the sidebar, below Websites. Choose Enable Daily Digests. Real-time incident notifications stop. At the time you configure, TechDash creates one card for that local day: Today's Changes (new or escalated incidents that are still open) then Outstanding Incidents (other open incidents at the levels you include). Desktop, Slack, Microsoft Teams, and Discord still deliver that daily summary if those channels are on.

Enable Daily Digest

  1. Open Daily Digest in the sidebar, below Websites. The item is always listed.
  2. Read the description. Enabling applies to all sites and stops real-time incident banners and chat messages.
  3. Choose Enable Daily Digests.

The default send time is 09:00 on this computer's clock. The default included levels are Warning and Critical.

Expected result: the page shows Disable Digests, Configure, and Send digest now. Until the first send, it explains when the next digest is due.

Configure time and levels

  1. With Daily Digest enabled, choose Configure.
  2. Set Digest creation time using this device's local clock.
  3. Tick Advisory, Warning, and Critical for the levels you want in both Today's Changes and Outstanding Incidents.
  4. Choose Save. At least one level is required.

A change applies to the next digest. Cards already created stay as they were.

Read a day's card

Each card is one local send day. The top shows counts for Today's Changes, Outstanding Incidents, and Critical, Warning, and Advisory items across both lists.

  • Today's Changes lists incidents at your included levels that are still open and that are new or more severe since the last digest (or since you enabled the mode).
  • Outstanding Incidents lists the other currently open incidents at those levels.
  • Resolved or ignored incidents do not appear. Recoveries are not listed.

Select a row to open the incident if it is still open. If it has closed since the card was created, TechDash tells you it is no longer open.

How channels deliver the digest

Daily Digest does not add a new destination. It uses the same global channels as real-time alerts:

  • Desktop notifications must be On in Notifications for a system banner.
  • Slack, Microsoft Teams, and Discord receive the digest when their webhook fields are set.

Per-page Notify toggles do not apply to the digest. The summary covers all sites. If the message is too long for a channel, TechDash keeps today's items and shortens the outstanding list.

App update banners are not part of Daily Digest and still arrive in real time.

Sleep, quit, and empty days

If this computer is asleep or TechDash is quit when the send time passes, TechDash still creates today's digest when it wakes or you launch the app again, until local 23:59. After midnight, that day's digest is skipped. The next card waits for the next send time.

If there are no today's changes and no outstanding incidents at your included levels, TechDash does not create a card and does not send a digest.

Send digest now creates or replaces today's card immediately. Automatic sends still happen only once per local day.

Disable Daily Digests

Choose Disable Digests on the Daily Digest page. Real-time incident notifications resume. Saved day cards stay stored and appear again if you enable the mode later.

Daily Digest is not a toggle on Settings or Notifications.
