Read the website overview page

Find lookups, resources, incidents, pages, custom checks, and sitewide checks for one site.

Last checked 1 September 2026

Select a card on Websites to open that website's overview. The page brings together its identity, lookups, screenshot, resources, open incidents, monitored pages, custom checks, and sitewide outcomes.

Use the Websites back button at the top to return to the portfolio.

Website header

The header shows:

  • The locally stored icon or a hostname-letter placeholder.
  • The display name and hostname.
  • A Paused badge when monitoring is paused.
  • Connect to Google Search Console when no property is connected, or a Search Console badge when one is connected.

The Search Console button opens Google's authorization and property-matching flow. A successful connection enables Search Console information and top-page import, but it does not change the website's normal local page checks.

When a Shopify crawler signature is on and it expires in fewer than 7 days, or has already expired, a Shopify Crawler Signature warning appears under the header. Edit website opens Advanced Settings so you can replace the saved values. See Use Web Bot Auth with Shopify.

Validation and screenshot cards

The first row contains three cards:

  • SSL Validation Checks shows certificate status, issuer, organization when available, certificate type, validity dates, and time remaining. It is checked daily.
  • Domain Validation Checks shows registration details for the registrable domain, including registrar, reseller when available, dates, last update, and nameservers.
  • The screenshot card displays the full-page homepage image when available and falls back to the viewport screenshot. A placeholder appears while no usable capture exists.

Pending or failed lookup information is independent of the screenshot and page checks. One card can update while another is still waiting.

Site Resources

Site Resources summarizes:

  • robots.txt, checked hourly.
  • Sitemap, llms.txt, and favicon, checked daily.
  • Analytics coverage derived from monitored-page checks.

Select Check now to request an immediate site-resource run. The action does not run every monitored page or refresh the screenshot.

Current Incidents

Current Incidents charts open Advisory, Warning, and Critical totals for this website. Select a bar to open Incidents filtered to this website and that importance. Selecting the chart outside a specific bar opens the website's incident view without adding an importance filter.

The chart counts open incidents, not every historical result. Resolving or recovering an incident changes these totals after the underlying issue state updates.

Monitored Pages

Monitored Pages shows the URLs TechDash checks for this website. The first-run Sources screen is how you build the initial set after Add website. From this card you can later:

  • Add one page or bulk-add absolute URLs.
  • Filter the list by path, URL, status, or schedule.
  • Review last-check times and page schedules.
  • Use Run now for an immediate page check.
  • Enable or disable a page and configure its checks.
  • Remove a page after confirmation.
  • Import top pages when Search Console is connected.

Pages must use the website's hostname. Changing the website frequency through Edit Website updates every page; changing one row affects only that page.

Custom and sitewide checks

Custom Checks lists customer-defined found or not-found rules. Use Add custom check to create one, or the row actions to edit or delete an existing rule. A custom check can apply per URL or sitewide according to its configuration.

Sitewide Checks shows outcomes that belong to the website rather than one page row. These include robots and sitemap results, DNS and domain lookup outcomes, Search Console checks, a Shopify crawler signature when Web Bot Auth is on, and cross-page finalize checks.

Each row has a status. A row that is not Good can include View Incident Report, which opens the related incident detail. Some pending or unavailable outcomes may not have an incident report yet.

If information looks stale

  • Check for a Paused badge. Scheduled work does not refresh paused websites.
  • Confirm the computer is online and past any Wi-Fi sign-in page.
  • Open Queue Status to check backlogs and active workers.
  • Remember that different sections run on different schedules.
  • Use the section-specific action: Run now for a page, Check now for Site Resources, or the website card's refresh action for screenshot or icon.
  • A missing screenshot or icon does not mean monitored-page results are missing.
  • If the page shows Website not found, the website was deleted or is no longer available in local storage. Return to Websites.

If a section remains stale after its section-specific action completes and Queue Status shows no corresponding waiting or active work, open Help & Support. Include the TechDash version, operating system, hostname, affected card or row, displayed status and checked time, action selected, action time with time zone, and screenshots of the section and relevant queues.
