System requirements and supported platforms
Check supported installers, hardware limits, Chrome or Edge, and what the computer needs for local monitoring.

TechDash is available for macOS, Windows, and Linux. Monitoring runs on your computer, including checks that open pages in Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge. Choose a supported installer and allow enough memory, storage, uptime, and network access for the number of pages you monitor.
Supported installers
- macOS: Install TechDash from the DMG offered for your Mac.
- Windows: Install TechDash from the setup
.exeoffered for your computer. Setup creates a desktop shortcut. - Linux: Use the
.debor.rpmoffered for your distribution. Linux packages are produced for x64 and arm64. Updates use Download installer instead of installing inside TechDash.
Use only the official TechDash download or update flow. If it offers more than one architecture, choose the one that matches the computer. Apple silicon Macs use arm64, Intel Macs use x64, and Windows computers may use x64 or ARM64. Do not use a package for another operating system or processor.
TechDash does not include a browser. Install Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge on the same computer. TechDash also looks for Chromium in the usual locations, such as /Applications/Chromium.app on a Mac. Settings > Monitoring shows Chromium Path only when Chrome, Edge, and those locations are missing.
Use the installer currently offered for the computer's operating system and architecture. If that installer does not open, note the operating-system version, processor architecture, TechDash version, installer filename, and exact message, then open Help & Support.
Computer capacity
Use a supported 64-bit architecture with an installer offered by TechDash. Leave enough free memory and storage for the operating system, Chrome or Edge while TechDash checks pages, and the local monitoring history you choose to retain. A stable internet connection without an unfinished Wi-Fi sign-in is also required for online checks.
TechDash stores a local database, compressed page HTML, screenshots, icons, logs, and update downloads. Actual memory and disk use depends on page count, page size, screenshots, check frequency, and retention over time. There is no fixed storage allowance that fits every portfolio.
Under Settings > Monitoring, Concurrent Crawls controls how many pages TechDash checks at the same time. The default is two. The app limits the available range using CPU cores and available RAM. If the computer becomes slow, reduce Concurrent Crawls, monitor fewer URLs, or use longer check intervals.
Uptime and background operation
The computer must be powered on with a user signed in when checks are due. Closing the main window does not stop TechDash. It remains in the macOS menu bar or Windows system tray and can continue scheduled work. Quit TechDash, a paused portfolio, or a locked license stops the corresponding work.
On battery power or while the screen is locked, page checks stretch to about twice their configured interval. Sleep, shutdown, and sign-out prevent checks. When the computer becomes available again, TechDash can continue, but Queue Status may show waiting work.
Network and account requirements
A stable internet connection is needed to fetch pages and online data. Firewalls, VPNs, proxies, DNS filtering, Wi-Fi sign-in pages, and a monitored site's bot protection can affect results. Google Search Console, license validation, updates, and webhooks also need access to their services.
A license email and key are required. A license works on one computer at a time. Initial activation must reach the TechDash license service. Google Search Console and notification integrations are optional.
Start with a small portfolio
Start with the homepage and a small set of high-value URLs. Keep the default Daily frequency unless the business need justifies a faster schedule. After checks have run, use Queue Status to look for waiting work and website pressure. Increase concurrency only if the computer has spare capacity. Faster frequencies across thousands of URLs can delay other work and make the device feel busy.
If TechDash installs but checks do not run, confirm that it is open in the menu bar or tray, monitoring is resumed, the license is valid, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Chromium is installed (or Chromium Path is set if Settings asks for it), and the network does not require sign-in. Review Queue Status. If the cause is still unclear, open Help & Support and include the operating system, TechDash version, and what Queue Status shows.
