Install TechDash on Windows
Install TechDash with its Windows setup executable and activate the app.
Last checked 1 September 2026
TechDash is distributed for Windows as a setup .exe. Setup installs TechDash and creates a desktop shortcut. After installation, activate it with the email address and license key issued for your purchase. Page checks use Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge on this computer, then Chromium in the usual locations. See System requirements and supported platforms if Settings asks for a Chromium path.
Use only the setup file supplied through the official TechDash download or update flow. Official TechDash Windows installers are Authenticode-signed. Microsoft Defender SmartScreen can still show Windows protected your PC the first times a new version is downloaded, until that file and publisher have enough Safe history. If you are offered architecture-specific downloads, choose the one that matches the Windows computer.
Check the Windows architecture
- Open Windows Settings.
- Select System > About.
- Find System type under Device specifications.
Choose the x64 download for a 64-bit operating system with an x64-based processor. Choose ARM64 only for an ARM-based processor. If the official download flow offers only one Windows installer, use that installer. Do not substitute a package for another operating system.
Install the app
- Download the TechDash setup executable offered for this computer.
- Open Downloads in File Explorer.
- Double-click the TechDash setup file.
- Review and complete the Windows installer prompts.
- Open TechDash from the desktop shortcut or Start menu.
The setup filename normally follows the TechDash-[version]-setup.exe pattern. Do not reuse an installer supplied for another computer unless its architecture matches.
Activate TechDash
On a new installation, TechDash shows Activate TechDash:
- Enter the licensed address under Email.
- Enter License key in the
XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXXformat. - Select Activate license.
If your license email contains a TechDash activation link, open the email on this computer and select the link. Your browser or Windows may ask whether to open TechDash. The link can fill Email and License key, but it does not activate automatically. Review the details, then select Activate license.
Activation requires internet access. One license can be active on one computer at a time.
After installation
After successful activation, the activation screen closes and the main app becomes available. TechDash starts local monitoring and manages its local data folder automatically.
Desktop notifications are On by default. While TechDash is running, Warning and Critical incidents can appear in the Windows desktop notification area, including when the main window is closed. Open Notifications, find Desktop notifications, and select Send test to confirm the operating-system notification settings allow TechDash banners.
Closing the main window leaves TechDash in the system tray so scheduled checks can continue. Select the tray icon to reopen it. To stop all TechDash work, open the tray menu and choose Quit TechDash.
If Windows warns about or blocks the installer
Do not approve an installer from an unknown source. Delete the file and download TechDash again through the official TechDash website, account, or update flow.
If Microsoft Defender SmartScreen shows Windows protected your PC and says it prevented an unrecognized app from starting:
- Confirm the setup file came from the official TechDash website, account, or in-app update. If it did not, delete it.
- Select More info.
- Confirm the app is TechDash and the publisher is TUN DIGITAL LTD. Do not continue if the publisher is blank, Unknown, or a different name.
- Select Run anyway.
- Complete the installer prompts.
That warning can appear on a correctly signed official installer until SmartScreen has seen enough clean downloads of this publisher. It is not a reason to turn off Windows Security.
If Windows still blocks that official download, or the publisher is not TUN DIGITAL LTD:
- Copy the exact message or take a screenshot without showing your license key.
- Open Settings > System > About and note the Windows version and System type.
- Note the TechDash setup filename.
- Check whether Windows says the block was set by your organisation or administrator.
Do not disable Windows Security or organisation security controls to install the app. If a company policy caused the block, contact your administrator. Otherwise, open Help & Support and send the details above.
If setup or launch fails
- Delete an incomplete download and download the setup file again from the official source.
- If setup is blocked, check whether your Windows account or organisation requires administrator approval for installed apps.
- Look for TechDash in the system tray. Open at login can start the app in the background without showing the main window.
- Select the tray icon and choose Open TechDash, or use the desktop shortcut to bring the existing instance forward.
- TechDash permits only one running instance, so reopening the shortcut does not create a duplicate monitoring process.
- If installation succeeds but Activate TechDash rejects the license, do not keep reinstalling. Check the email and key, connection, and whether the license is bound to another computer.
The expected result is Activate TechDash on a new installation, or the previous main app area if this installation is already activated.
If setup closes without installing TechDash, or neither the app window nor tray icon appears, open Help & Support. Include the Windows version, System type, setup filename, and exact error.
