Navigate the TechDash desktop app

Learn what each main navigation area is for.

Last checked 26 August 2026

The sidebar is the main route to TechDash features. The header above the content shows the current area. TechDash stores the last route locally and normally restores it when the main window opens again.

Use the sidebar control in the header to collapse or expand navigation when you need more room. A collapsed sidebar shows icons, with the same destinations available as tooltips.

Incidents

Incidents is the default route for a new installation. Its stat cards show:

  • Checks Made Today
  • Total Open Advisories
  • Total Open Warnings
  • Total Open Critical Issues

Use the search, website, and importance filters to narrow the list. Select an incident card to review its description, detected evidence, affected URL or URLs, and fix guidance. Depending on the check, the detail view can offer Share, Ignore, Mark Resolved, Check & Verify, or a specific in-app fix such as updating a monitored URL.

Use Incidents when you want to understand what is currently wrong. It is not the queue history for every passing check.

Websites

Websites is the portfolio view. Use Add website to add an origin or source path. Filter the portfolio by website name or hostname, then open a website to manage:

  • Site Resources, including robots.txt, sitemap, llms.txt, favicon, and analytics coverage.
  • Current Incidents totals for the selected website.
  • Monitored Pages, including frequencies, enabled state, and last-check information.
  • Custom Checks created for this website.
  • Sitewide Checks that do not belong to only one page.
  • Website settings, pause state, display name, access settings, icon, and screenshot.

After Add website, TechDash opens a first-run Sources screen for that site. Sources is not in the sidebar. Use it to collect suggested pages, then Done or Skip to reach the website overview.

Use this area to add, edit, pause, resume, or delete websites. If you are looking for one page's schedule or want to run it now, open the website and use Monitored Pages.

Health Report

Health Report compares portfolio health. Websites are ordered from the lowest Health Score to the highest, so the site needing the most attention appears first. Each website row combines incident trends with a live Health Score out of 100.

Select View calculation to see the enabled page count and the weighted open-incident totals. Advisory, Warning, and Critical incidents use increasing weights. Use this report to prioritise websites and review changes over days, months, or years. Open Incidents for the detailed evidence behind a score.

Queue Status

Queue Status is the operational view. It shows waiting jobs, active jobs, and workers for each scheduler queue. It also highlights backlogs and ranks websites by monitoring pressure, including queued pages, slow checks, stored HTML size, page count, and estimated checks per day.

Use it when a check is late, the computer feels busy, or a large website may be delaying other work. Green, amber, and red queue values describe scheduler load. They are not Good, Warning, and Critical incident results.

Notifications

Notifications controls:

  • Desktop notifications and its Send test action.
  • Notify when a check recovers.
  • Slack, Microsoft Teams, and Discord webhook URLs and tests.
  • Ignored Checks, grouped by website, with Remove rule actions.

Open this area when alerts do not arrive or when you need to reverse an Ignore action.

Settings

Settings contains:

  • Appearance: system, light, or dark theme
  • Monitoring: concurrent crawls and Open at login
  • License: licensed email, updates and support date, replacement, unlink, account, and renewal actions
  • Check for Updates: current, latest, and owned versions plus download or restart controls
  • Privacy: the Send crash reports setting
  • About: product, version, and platform information

Sidebar links

At the bottom of the sidebar, Help & Support opens the online knowledge base and Product Roadmap opens the public roadmap. Both open in your default browser.

If a named area or action is missing after you confirm that TechDash is activated, fully quit and reopen the app. If it is still missing, open Help & Support and include the TechDash version, operating system, expected area, current sidebar destinations, and a screenshot without license details or webhook URLs.
