Search and filter incidents
Narrow open issues by text, website, and importance.
Last checked 21 August 2026
Use the controls above the incident list to narrow the current open incidents. Search, website, and importance filters work together, so a card must match every active filter to remain visible.
Search incident text
Enter text in Search, whose field placeholder is Filter incidents. Matching is case-insensitive and checks:
- Check name
- Incident message
- Website name and hostname
- Monitored path and full incident URL
- Current evidence
- URLs parsed from supported grouped incidents
Ordinary text matches anywhere in those values. For example, canonical, example.com, or /products/ can find relevant cards without additional syntax.
Search also accepts two wildcard characters:
*matches any number of characters.?matches one character.
If you do not type a wildcard, TechDash behaves as if your text has * at both ends. shop therefore matches shop.example.com and Workshop page. To match a more specific shape, use a pattern such as *.example.com/products/*.
Search is designed to locate incident cards, not every piece of displayed evidence. Some specialized rows, such as a Search Console query or a secondary value inside a complex card, may not participate in text matching. Open a likely incident to inspect all rows.
Filter by website
Use Website to choose All websites or one saved website. This is useful when:
- Reviewing incidents after a deployment to one website
- Working through one client account
- Separating similar check names across several properties
- Following a link from the website overview
Changing the website filter does not alter the incident or its monitoring settings.
Filter by importance
Under Importance Level, select or clear:
- Advisory
- Warning
- Critical
All three are selected by default. You can select one level for focused triage or combine any levels. If you clear all three, no incident can match.
Open a pre-filtered incident list
On a website overview, the Current Incidents chart opens Incidents with that website selected. Selecting the chart background keeps all importance levels. Selecting an Advisory, Warning, or Critical bar also selects only that importance level.
The URL carries the website and optional severity values, so the filtered state can be established as the page opens. You can then adjust any control normally.
Understand the results
Filters apply as you type or change a control. The line above the cards reports how many matching incidents are currently shown and the total number that match. Only 30 are shown initially. Select Load More for the next group.
When no open incident matches, TechDash displays No incidents match and suggests trying a different search, website, or importance level. To recover:
- Clear the Search field.
- Set Website to All websites.
- Select Advisory, Warning, and Critical under Importance Level.
Filtering is read-only. It does not mark an incident resolved, create an ignore rule, delete check history, or change which checks run. Open a result card when you need complete evidence or incident actions.
To verify a filter, compare the Showing line with the visible cards, then open one result and confirm its website and importance match your selections. Remember that Load More reveals additional matches; it does not broaden the filters. If a known open incident is missing, reset all three controls before assuming it was resolved.
